New obsession.

Ryan was sick yesterday, so to make him feel better I got our laptop and went to Netflix for a movie. Not knowing what to watch, we browsed through the 'instant' selection and came across The Office, Ryan's choice. They have all 4 seasons on there! Needless to say, it's our new obsession. We've both seen it before but we're not avid watchers. We finished Season 1 and most of Season 2 before I fell asleep. We love it! I invite you to join in our obsession...

Le Book Club

I've wanted to be better at reading, so my sister , and English major, started a book club for me. There are four of us and we had our second meeting on Thursday. The first book we read was Number The Stars and we just finished The Goose Girl this month. Next on the list is Name of the Wind, which was my choice. I'm going to miss the club when we move and my sister says it's my responsibility to find a replacement. My reply is, I'm irreplacable! Maybe we can have the book club via chat...

Flashback Friday!

Thanks to this gal, I've decided to join in on Flashback Friday. I have so many pictures uploaded on Picasa, it will be fun to go through them each week.

This is High School graduation 2004. We were on our way to UVSC to walk.

The summer after High School. Probably one of the best summers i can remember. We went to our friend's cabin the day after graduation.

Birthday treat

This is what I got to enjoy yesterday as a late birthday gift. Yum. My favorite thing in the world..ice cream.

Wicked Awesome!

Ryan and I bought tickets to Wicked in January. We were planning on taking a little trip this summer with his sister because she is also a huge fan. Well, it turns out she is unable to go and since we will no longer have his flying benefits from Skywest, we won't be able to afford it. It broke my heart when I had to cancell the tickets. I've known they were coming to UT for a year now, but I just heard that it's coming next April! Hmm..I smell a birthday gift! (Hint hint)

Reminiscing

Last night as I went to go look over and edit our budget, I came across some old journals I had on my zip drive. They dated 2003. It brought me back to how good I used to be at writing in my journal. I would write every week without fail. It was nice because my sister was on her mission so I'd just copy and paste her my journal entries. It made it very nice. I got caught up reading my entries from High School, that I didn't even get to the budget! I wrote about my crush, Dance Company, drama at work, deaths and everything in between. There are about 100 entries and I only read 30 or so. The time snuck up on me, and before I knew it I was way past my bedtime. I wanted to stay up and read them all, they were so enthralling! I left them up so I can continue where I left off last night. This really got me thinking how I need to be better at writing in my journal. It seemed dumb at the time, but reading them now is so interesting! It brings back so many memories of how my life used to be. I was so good! I was on Dance Company and I would wake up and work out every morning before school too. Wow. My new goal: writing in my journal every week. I think for me it's easier to write on the computer, since I'm always on it anyway. I do have journals from college, but reading them now I wish I would've written more often. I wrote about meeting Ryan, but not much after we've been married. It's sad. I want to encourage everyone to start or continue writing in journals, whether it be on blogs or paper.

Stampin Up 2

I finally went back to Stampin' Up with my friend Adria. Ever since I got my second job I could never make it. Come to find out it goes until 9:30! I could've gone all along. Here are the pictures of 2 of the 4 cards I made. The other 2 are the same as these, they just say different things.

22!

Good morning! I took a half day off for work on Tuesday and a full day off on Wednesday for my birthday. We spent the day tiling the bathroom, and that night I went to see Emma Smith for Enrichment. We bought this tile the same time as the kitchen, but after doing the kitchen we were sick of it. Now that we're moving we decided we'd better finish the job. Ryan did such a good job with our kitchen that he took the bathroom on himself! Here are some step by step pictures of our project:
1. Wrip up lanoleum squares
2. This is what we found underneath!
Step 1 Prep
Step 2 Lay tile-Mortar
Step 3 Grout
Tada! Isn't
she perdy?

Health Fair

Today we had a health fair at work. This fair included testing and prizes. Along with free pens and snacks I won this! Here are my results:

Glucose: 86-good

Body Mass Index: 21.8-good

Grip Strength R: 30 L: 28-good (60% percentile!)

Blood Pressure: 110/78-good

Cholesterol: 252-what?

RN: Are you pregnant?

TE: No

RN: A person with your stats should be under 200. Do you have history of high cholesterol?

TE: I don't think so?

RN: Has anyone in your family had a heart attack?

TE: My dad.

RN: You need to call your doctor and get a lipid profile. This is high enough that you might need a prescription. If it's genetic even eating more healthy won't help very much.

Great. Thanks Dad. I don't eat meat hardly ever, but I also don't jump at the chance of eating raw veggies. I guess I'd better stop smoking and limit my alcohol intake, oh yea, and start excercising again. Argh.

New area code

Did you know that starting March 1, 2009 we will be required to dial 801 before every phone call? I always teased Ryan for putting #'s into his phone that way. Now it looks like I'm the one who'll have to edit all mine...If you get a new # after March 29, 2009 you will get the new 385 area code. Crazy huh?

Call the fashion police

How funny. One day our cat walked out of the bedroom wearing this...no joke! I was convinced this was Ryan's doing, but he said he didn't touch him and that he was just as shocked as I. He left it on him so I could see it later that day. I could not stop laughing. What a fashion statement!

FHE

Here is Aminis with his whole family. (Jaqueline is in the pic on the floor...she was shy) We join them at their home each Monday night for FHE and we love it! Last week they were in charge and they all took turns bearing their testimonies. We ate dinner and watched 'Enchanted.' These people are amazing and I love to spend time with them. Ryan's scheule is changing in a few weeks so he won't have Monday nights off anymore. We might just have to have FHE on Tuesday evenings...

Our blog?

Our blog is called the Never-ett Ending Story. I feel like it's just my story though. Because I feel so guilty for never blogging about what goes on in Ryan's life I will now make a goal to do so. I apologize for all the Ryan fans out there. More to come soon!

Google Weblogs

Google has been working on a new product...Google Weblogs. They are launching it later this year. Here's what they say we can expect:

  • Don’t limit yourself to “reverse chronological” publishing. Our advanced Google algorithms put your best content at the top of your blog. Even if your later work goes downhill your previous posts will still shine.

  • No more template languages to mess with or sidebars to get right. Our advanced Google algorithms automatically populate your blog’s sidebar with the most relevant possible content.

  • Stop worrying about your PageRank or your search engine optimization. Post directly into Google search results for maximum visibility.

  • Save your readers time and effort. We’ll automatically extract the most relevant sentence from your post for the index page, along with any necessary ellipsis. We'll also put some words in bold!

  • Your blog’s header will stay fresh with new images from our team of artists, each and every anniversary of a scientific achievement.

  • Unsure of what to post about? Just click “I’m Feeling Lucky” and we’ll “take care” of the rest!

This sounds cool! I can't wait!

April Fool's! Or is it?...

Yesterday at work some girls and I decided to play an April Fool's joke on our managers. We were going to tell them we were all pregnant. At different times we all sent them an email. We were pretty sure that they wouldn't believe us, but it was fun enough. Today after feeling guilty and realizing we were frustrating our director, we went into her office to tell the truth. Much to our surprise she was mad. She said that this was not funny and that they had already lined up 4 interviews and she thought they were sending the emails today. She told us to shut the door and continued to chastise us. She called Shane in HR and he said he'd already sent out the emails. She told us to leave and went to talk with Shane. Walking back to our desks everyone wondered how it went. We told them she was mad! After talking about it we thought it was a joke. C'mon, how would they have already interviewed 4 people when we just told them yesterday we were pregnant. A few minutes later she calles me and Aubree into her office. After closing the door and sitting down, she, our supervisor and trainer tell us it was a joke, but they wanted to keep playing it off for the other 2 girls. They said that they're going to pretend to fire us because we're not elligible for FMLA. They gave us boxes and told us to pack up our things and she'd take away our badges in front of everyone. She told us to walk out and wait in the conference room while she called the other 2 girls in. Trying very hard to keep a straight face we walked out and started packing up. One of the other girls didn't believe me, but I kept my face stern and continued to pack. Aubree and I walked out into the hall with our boxes and waited...moments later our supervisor came out and told us that they were freaked out. She said they stood up for us and said, "it was my idea, fire me, not them!" CLASSIC! Walking back to our office our whole department was standing and amazed at everything that had just took place. What a great April Fool's Day! Not only that but our director felt like being nice and is letting us go home 30 minutes early. She also bought everyone pizza! Who did you guys fool today?
