J.O.B

I have so much to blog about (with pictures) but Ryan's been gone with the computer every night so it's been put off.
First off, Ryan finally made the plunge and quit his job last week. We knew it would happen within the next few months, but him working there was delaying it ever happening. He'd been going under hours for a long time because he's been trying to do as much as possible with the business. He finally got in trouble for going under hours so he's had to make hours which means we never see each other and no time for the business. Long story short, we both felt it was the right time and decision so SEE YOU J.O.B! Since quitting we've been extremely blessed and have so much time together, more than we've ever had since we got married. It's so nice to come home to him every day and go to bed with him at night. He's been on appointments every night and we have some serious STUDS on our team. We're lovin' it! It's so fun to build this business together. Give us a few more months and I'll be able to quit the J.O.B as well.

Thanksgiving Weekend

We got a new laptop a few weeks ago, and now our other one is completely broken. It doesn't do a thing. It's pretty frustrating. Speaking of frustrating, i failed my life insurance test again...
We drove down to St. George Wednesday afternoon, and after a whirlwind Thanksgiving with both families, drove back Thursday night to get back to work Friday morning.
Saturday night was my company's Christmas party at Grand America. They had entertainment by Andy Gross; the comedian, ventriloquist, and magician. He chose me out of the audience to help him with a magic trick. It was very embarrassing, especially when he had me keep my hand on his thigh, it was a fun night altogether though. They had performance and instruction from a Latin dance company. Ryan wouldn't dance with me, so my friend and I tore it up, but we didn't win the dance off or any raffle prizes.
Sunday we went to my best friend's homecoming and spent most the day with her. I'm so excited to have my Sydney back!

Let's go Jazz

I got free tickets to the Jazz game Thursday night from a drawing at work. We were row 26 on the lower bowl. $116.00 tickets, not bad! Ryan even caught a ball! If you look closely you can even see Hot Rod Hunley in the background. Ryan was too scared to get an autograph though...
Needless to say, I won for best date this week!

Propel

We get free propel at work. Ever since I've been drinking it (many months now) I have gotten headaches. I've been trying to figure out what is in it that could be causing them. Today I did some research. Have any of you heard the 'myth' about aspertame? Whether it's true or not, acesulfame, and sucralose are also sweeteners that can be found in Propel. Mystery solved? You be the judge. What have you heard or experienced?

Lame Sauce

My company had their annual summer work party on Saturday. I got work off and Ryan and I were both really excited to go. We got back early that morning from AZ (will post on that later) and took a short, OK, really long nap before we headed out. It was at the Wolf Creek Ranch up by Kamas. After arriving we ate lunch, then looked around at the activities. They had horse back riding, a dunk tank, and volleyball. There was one other person from my department there so we ate lunch with her then Ryan made the executive decision to leave. We were both really disappointed at how lamo it was. I even wore my free t-shirt! There were no planned activities or any fun games, like promised. We were mad we drove an hour to get there and wasted all that gas. I guess Todd, the owner of our company owns part of it so he 'suggested' that we go there again this year. If I'm still working there next summer I will surely be putting my 2 cents in regarding the summer party. At least the Christmas party was fun!

Here's me by the horsey.

On the way home we stopped off at the Jordonelle look out point.

Indiana Jones

My work took everyone to see Indiana Jones last night. We got free concessions and no previews! It was good action, but I thought it was really cheesy, completely unrealistic, and the whole story line was kind of cooky, especially the end. Harrison Ford's pretty old and you could tell as he was running and jumping, but nice job overall.

A night out

I work 2 jobs, so I usually don't have time to relax between them and getting everything else done. I've been really busy working overtime at work and just feel overwhelmed. I came home Tuesday night to find my bathrobe, a bubble bath with candles and music all awaiting me. The hubs, he's good. I took a long needed bath then sat down to a nice candle lit 3 course meal, all done by Ryan. {notice the blanket tablecloth!} I guess my stress was noticeable because he did all this for me. It was a very nice evening. Thanks babe.

Health Fair

Today we had a health fair at work. This fair included testing and prizes. Along with free pens and snacks I won this! Here are my results:

Glucose: 86-good

Body Mass Index: 21.8-good

Grip Strength R: 30 L: 28-good (60% percentile!)

Blood Pressure: 110/78-good

Cholesterol: 252-what?

RN: Are you pregnant?

TE: No

RN: A person with your stats should be under 200. Do you have history of high cholesterol?

TE: I don't think so?

RN: Has anyone in your family had a heart attack?

TE: My dad.

RN: You need to call your doctor and get a lipid profile. This is high enough that you might need a prescription. If it's genetic even eating more healthy won't help very much.

Great. Thanks Dad. I don't eat meat hardly ever, but I also don't jump at the chance of eating raw veggies. I guess I'd better stop smoking and limit my alcohol intake, oh yea, and start excercising again. Argh.

April Fool's! Or is it?...

Yesterday at work some girls and I decided to play an April Fool's joke on our managers. We were going to tell them we were all pregnant. At different times we all sent them an email. We were pretty sure that they wouldn't believe us, but it was fun enough. Today after feeling guilty and realizing we were frustrating our director, we went into her office to tell the truth. Much to our surprise she was mad. She said that this was not funny and that they had already lined up 4 interviews and she thought they were sending the emails today. She told us to shut the door and continued to chastise us. She called Shane in HR and he said he'd already sent out the emails. She told us to leave and went to talk with Shane. Walking back to our desks everyone wondered how it went. We told them she was mad! After talking about it we thought it was a joke. C'mon, how would they have already interviewed 4 people when we just told them yesterday we were pregnant. A few minutes later she calles me and Aubree into her office. After closing the door and sitting down, she, our supervisor and trainer tell us it was a joke, but they wanted to keep playing it off for the other 2 girls. They said that they're going to pretend to fire us because we're not elligible for FMLA. They gave us boxes and told us to pack up our things and she'd take away our badges in front of everyone. She told us to walk out and wait in the conference room while she called the other 2 girls in. Trying very hard to keep a straight face we walked out and started packing up. One of the other girls didn't believe me, but I kept my face stern and continued to pack. Aubree and I walked out into the hall with our boxes and waited...moments later our supervisor came out and told us that they were freaked out. She said they stood up for us and said, "it was my idea, fire me, not them!" CLASSIC! Walking back to our office our whole department was standing and amazed at everything that had just took place. What a great April Fool's Day! Not only that but our director felt like being nice and is letting us go home 30 minutes early. She also bought everyone pizza! Who did you guys fool today?

A night at the movies..

My work had a meeting last night at Jordan Commons. It was a lot of fun and just made me more proud of the company I work for. We got a free showing of 10,000 BC afterwards and Ryan was able to join me. It wasn't the best movie I've seen, but it was entertaining.

My New Job

I finally left the Post Office. I really didn't want to work 72 hours a week during the Holidays again. I found a job just down the street from our new place, and I just finished training. It's at an online foreignexchange broker called Interbank FX. It's an office job, which I wanted, and NORMAL HOURS!! Crazy, I know. I don't think I've ever had a day job in my life. THe sad part is Ryan still works nights. By the time he gets home I'm just going to bed. I really hate that part. He's a supervisor now, so he's back down to the bottom of the bid list. Hopefuly he'll be able to work days sometime. So here I am, alone all weekend....someone help!
