The Animal Advocacy Alliance of Utah held a fundraiser today to cover medical bills for a kitten that was burned deliberately.
The kitten was found in a Glendale neighborhood and could become the first case to test Henry's law, which now makes animal abuse a felony in Utah.
Veternarians expect the kitten to recover.
A reward fund has also been created to help catch the person responsible.

For the second time in two weeks, an animal rights group is offering a reward in a case of cruelty to kittens.
KSL told you last week about a kitten that was tortured with burns to her tail, feet, whiskers and back.
Now witnesses say a driver in Washington County tossed two cats out of his car window then ran over one of them, killing it instantly. The other kitten is expected to survive with a compound leg fracture.
The Animal Advocacy Alliance of Utah is offering a $1,000 reward in the case.
