The car fiasco
I get a call Thursday, June 7, from my husband that he couldn't find the car in the parking lot. I didn't know whether to believe him or not, but nevertheless, it wasn't there. He called the cops, and after filing a report, got a ride from them and went to work. They called us Friday morning to tell us they'd found it. It was just a few blocks away in a Mark Steel parking lot. What they think happened is they took our car Wednesday night to this place to steel a truck that was parked there. Luckily, one of the employees came into work and saw two men looking inside this truck, and chased them away. Our car, thank goodness, was not in too bad of shape, although they did wrip our the ignition and destroy the dash trying to take the stereo. Thanks to my dad, it was impossible to steal! Previously we had the "h's" wripped off, and this time they just wripped off the accord sign. They took the plate off the front, replaced our rear view mirror dogtag, to a lovely scented palm tree, wripped all the stickers off the front windshield, and stole Ryan's golf clubs from the truck. Luckily, they were so good at what they did that they didn't have to break a window to get in. (That's already happened to us) After fingerprinting the car he said he found a few good prints, so hopefuly they catch these guys. They found the makings of some meth in a cigaratte box in our car, along with some shoes they left in the back seat. Honda's are very easy to steal, so my dad is puting an alarm in it, and we're also getting a club for the steering wheel. Overall, we live in a bad part of town, and the cop told us that personally, he wouldn't ever live in Salt Lake. Our bad. We're thinking about moving, since our lease is up in two months. We'll keep you posted.
