...as we continued our day trip through Philly, our next stop was the Independence
National Historical Park. This was an amazing place and there was so much
of our countries history there, you could just feel it in the air that this was a special place, and we were very honored to be able to see where our country was born. Our first stop was to the Liberty Bell. We had to go through security like we were at the airport or something. It was crazy!! Then we were finally in and that's when the fun began. We were able to learn about the history of the Liberty Bell and about why it has a crack and all that good stuff. Then we moved up the block and went to Independence Hall. This was such an amazing tour!!! This was a very beautiful building and to see the actual rooms where the Constitution was written and
The Declaration of Independence was signed was awe inspiring!! We felt like we should shout hooray and and start singing the National Anthem!!! It was weird, in a way you could feel the spirit there, it was like a confirmation that what had happened there so many years ago was exactly what our Heavenly Father had planned to happen and he had put those men there to accomplish his purposes!!! After that, we walked down the street and over to the Philadelphia Mint. This was an amazing tour and we both enjoyed it. Unfortunately, we have no other pictures except the outside of it, because they do not allow any sort of cameras or camcorders or camera phones inside of the building!!! Needless to say we had to take seperate tours while the other one waited outside holding the cameras!!! (Note to anyone who might visit the Mint...it is a worthwhile tour, but they will not hold your cameras for you...) So after all this Historical sightseeing, we had worked up quite an appetite!!! So we left to find the Best Cheese Steak that Philly had to offer....
