The Big One

Oh, don't mind our SMALL TV. One of Ryan's co-workers asked if he wanted to keep it for him while he is in Chicago until June for an internship. Of course, he said yes. Not really thinking how big it was, he went to pick it up. When I saw it I just laughed. It's huge. 61" It takes up our whole wall! We are really spoiled with it and will enjoy it while it lasts.

The gimp

I get a text from Ryan yesterday that says he's at the hospital. Great. For the past little while, every time he bends at the knees his right knee has been very tight. He was concerned, but we thought nothing of it. Yesterday at work he heard something pop. The doctor couldn't find anything that was torn, but after the diagnosis he guessed it was his meniscus. Ryan did some therapy and that made it hurt worse. The doctor told him to wear a brace and stay off it. He has another appointment next week. If things still feel the same he will get a scope so they can find the problem. He is still going into work, but will most likely do paperwork since he can't really walk well. Since it's a predisposed condition we'll probably end up having to pay for everything even though it happened at work. Darn. Let's hope he doesn't need surgery!

This is how I found him when I got home from work. It must be tough work, huh?

Lame Sauce

My company had their annual summer work party on Saturday. I got work off and Ryan and I were both really excited to go. We got back early that morning from AZ (will post on that later) and took a short, OK, really long nap before we headed out. It was at the Wolf Creek Ranch up by Kamas. After arriving we ate lunch, then looked around at the activities. They had horse back riding, a dunk tank, and volleyball. There was one other person from my department there so we ate lunch with her then Ryan made the executive decision to leave. We were both really disappointed at how lamo it was. I even wore my free t-shirt! There were no planned activities or any fun games, like promised. We were mad we drove an hour to get there and wasted all that gas. I guess Todd, the owner of our company owns part of it so he 'suggested' that we go there again this year. If I'm still working there next summer I will surely be putting my 2 cents in regarding the summer party. At least the Christmas party was fun!

Here's me by the horsey.

On the way home we stopped off at the Jordonelle look out point.

Team USA

I'm sad the Olympics are over. I have really enjoyed watching them these past two weeks. I missed the closing ceremony last night, but have been looking through pictures online from it. It looked just as amazing as the opening ceremonies. USA had the most medals overall, including 36 gold. I cannot wait for the next Olympics.

Trooper

I went golfing with Ryan last weekend. We planned on doing 9 holes, but he was doing so well that he talked me into doing the back 9 as well. Because his birthday was coming up I felt like I should oblige. Needless to say, it took forever because we had a slow group about 5 people ahead of us that we waited for about 30 minutes for. Anyway, as I sat in the cart looking at the amazing view I tried to keep myself entertained by taking pictures. We went to Old Mill and it looks out over the entire valley. It was gorgeous. Don't mind all the pictures. I'm no photographer.

Surprise!

We are great. We pulled off a surprise baby shower for my sister this last weekend. She thought she was going to a super Saturday, but no. I think even after they yelled surprise she was confused ;) She's due in about 3 weeks and looks amazing. Apparently no stretch marks either. I got the diaper wreath idea from my cousin. After wondering what to get her, I decided I'd give it a try. It actually turned out to be pretty easy!

Toni and Jeni (the host). Friends since grade school.
Can you tell who the real pregnant ones are?
Cousins: Holly, Toni, Carrie, Nani
Here is how the wreath started...

Finished project!

Zoo

Our weekend also consisted of going to the zoo. It was a nice day and the animals were so cool. It always amazes me of how many different animals exist. They are intriguing! Did you know elephant's have 4 teeth that are the size of bricks? I got some cool shots of inside animals mouths. Ha ha

Golf

Ryan loves to golf. His sister, Alyssa, is starting to learn and his dad's just a good sport to always go along. I decided I'd go enjoy the day with them. It was freezing and started to pour at the 3rd hole. It was pretty miserable until right there at the end. I hit my first drive, after attempting 3 or 4 times. I'm definitely not a golfer. Because the green was still wet, one of Ryan's hits stuck right in the ground. (see below)

Swimming!

We snuck out of the reception early and took the girls with us to go swimming at our pool. We had a great time, if you can't tell by the pictures, and a sleepover!

Tag you're it!

I thought I had done this one already, but no. So enjoy another one...(thanks Christine...)

1. What is his name? Ryan Erastus Everett
2. Who eats more? Ryan, but I eat way more sweets than him.
3. Who said, "I love you" first? Ryan. I think I just said 'thank you.' It was awkward, but I didn't want to just say it back without meaning it. Yea, I know it's cruel but it took me awhile, alright?
4. Who is taller? Ryan
5. Who is smarter? I'm smarter in school, Ryan is just generally smarter overall though.
6. Who is more sensitive? Me. I cry a lot.
7. Who does the laundry? Me. Unless he really needs something washed, then he'll do a load.
8. Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? Me. Sometimes I try to steal his side, but he never let's me. So, I sleep there whenever he's gone :)
9. Who pays the bills? Me
10. Who cooks more? Me, but not lately. He usually always cooks the meat.
11. Who is more stubborn? Me
12. Who is the first to admit they are wrong? I'm not sure that either of us do...
13. Who has more siblings? Ryan- he has 6 bros and sisters and I have 3
14. Who wears the pants in the relationship? Me, though I try and encourage him to.
15. What do you like to do together? Watch movies, sleep, go out to eat.
16. Who eats more sweets? Who knew this was a question? See #2
17. Guilty Pleasures? Buying anything when we can't afford to.
18. How did you meet? At CEU. Spring semester he moved into the dorms where I lived. It was love at first sight for him. I thought he was very cute, but that he'd never like me. At first I thought he was a stuck-up jock. After some persistance on his part and really getting to know him he made me so happy and I realized he was everything I wanted. BUT, he had to fight for me because I was dating someone else...he he he
19. Who asked whom out first? Because he was a poor college student we didn't really go on dates. But our first real date was to the Valentine's dance.
20. Who kissed who first? Ryan kissed me. It was great. We were watching Peter Pan and my best friend was sleeping next to us.
21. Who proposed? Ryan did. Complete surprise! Although we had a date picked out he told me he wouldn't have the ring until the end of the month, but that Saturday at my house he started giving me bath and body works lotion..etc. that he bought, then he pulled the ring out as well and got down on one knee..
22. His best features and qualities? Too many to name, but I'll say funny, great memory, gorgeous, good at everything he does, generous, smart, forgiving, unpredictable, confident, creative, athletic, laid back, huggable, spiritually in-tune, loving, adventurous.
23. Tag you’re it. Let's do family. Erin, Melanie, Sylvia, Elle, Janelle. And anyone else!

One World One Dream

I love the Olympics, especially the Summer Olympics. I watched the opening ceremony last night and was blown away. China spent about $400 B on the Olympics. There is a lot of controversy about it and China, but I amazed. I know that they are trying to impress the world and get a better image about them. I am excited to watch the events when I can. I have posted a running list of USA Gold Medallists on the sidebar to the right. Let's all cheer on the USA!

The Hairy One

Look who I found in the tub yesterday! I've never seen him in it before.
I tried to get a better picture, but he jumped out.

Handyman

That's what you can call me now. I took some initiative and, trying to impressive Ryan, fixed the toilet. I went to home depot and picked up a new bollock for our toilet because that's what my dad said it needed to stop the constant running. I followed the step by step instructions, installed it, then flushed. The result? Water was still running! I was frustrated and waited until Ryan got home to see if he could solve it. Of course, the minute he opened the lid he new what was wrong. Anyway, long story short. No more running water! Also, our bathroom drawers have been bugging us for awhile because they don't stay open. When you pull them out they fall and you have to hold them up. Along with the toilet part I got some new drawer rollers. With Ryan's help, we tweaked one, and replaced the other. Now we can open our drawers and not worry about the drawer falling on our toes. We felt so proud of ourselves last night!

Down with the old...

In with the new!

Weekend

with zero pictures. Sorry!

For our date night we were accompanied by Ryan's brother Aaron and his fiance Jessica. We went to Virg's, one of our favorites. After dinner everyone decided they all wanted ice cream so we drove down the street to Iceburg, another favorite. I got the tropical shake, which was amazing! It was a fun filled night!

We both had to work Saturday. After work I ran some errands then went to my friend Erica's bridal shower. It was nice to see friends I haven't seen since High School. There was yummy food and I even won a prize! Ryan's been so tired lately from doubling so he was already asleep when I got home. We enjoyed getting a long night's sleep Saturday night.

Our bishop spoke to the ward Sunday about giving a generous fast offering. Sometimes it's really hard when money's tight, but I know that we receive greater blessings when we sacrifice, and I know that it goes to people that need it a lot more than us. One woman said that the bishop told her when they first moved into the ward that you calculate the funds used for the meals you miss when you fast then double it. We have definately received blessings from paying our tithing, and I know there is more in store for paying a generous fast offering as well. I wouldn't want to miss out on those blessings!

We each took long naps on Sunday and went to bed earlier then usual. I feel great!
