Mixed emotions

I hate to even blog about this because I feel like all I do is complain. This shouldn't surprise a lot of you, but our car got stolen...again. We were lucky enough the first time to get it back, but we don't feel like we will this time. We've moved since the first incident (which is partly why we moved) but apparently we're still being victimized. It doesn't help that we live a hop away from the freeway, by the time we knew the car was gone they could've been to St. George already. After much thinking we decided if we do get the car back we will sell it for parts. If not, our insurance will pay for its market value. We have a biff with our HOA because they say the parking lot is their property, but we are responsible to keep it safe. How does that make sense? Something has got to be done. At our annual meeting we discussed several options which are being presented to the board in 3 weeks. The good part of all this is we got a new car! We wrote down our "musts" and found a great deal on a car we both love. After a long day running around yesterday we were able to relax and join my sister and her husband at Kingsbury Hall for the "25Th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee." It was fun to laugh and take a break from our crazy lives.

Boondocks!

We had a fun weekend! We were lucky enough to get tickets to Boondocks from our friends, the Yates. We played arcade games, go-carts, laser tag, and went miniature golfing, all in one place! It was really cold and windy and the race car worker let us just keep going and going because there was no one else around. We all froze! Ryan and Kaleb went on the Max Flight Simulator that spun them all around like a roller coaster. They both came out looking a little ill. We slept like babies that night....

Coyotes vs Flames

Not only is Ryan's job great, but he also has great friends who give us lots of free stuff. (We just got a Playstation 2 with about 25 games) He got 4 more tickets to the Phoenix Coyotes hockey game. Ryan went last month with some friends from work, and this time I was able to go. The tickets were in the luxury suite, the owners suite to be exact. They played the Calgary Flames which happens to be a favorite team of one of Ryan's co-workers. He took his dad and together we had a wonderful time. We saw "Cloverfield" and I'm still not sure how to feel about it. Any suggestions? An added bonus was that I got to meet up with my friend Shantell who lives there. My favorite part was of course, the warm weather. Enjoy the photos:
This is Shantell. I didn't get a picture with her in AZ, but that's her. She's holding her little girl Raylee.

Don't mind Ryan's baby face...the University of Phoenix Stadium is right next to the Jobing.com arena. (For those clueless folks out there like me, that's where the superbowl was.)

Here it is! The Jobing.com arena. (It's pronounced jobbing, I found out.)

Wasting time before the game.

Here are the fans! Ryan, Matt and Clark. (Matt's dad) They used to live in Calgary and love the flames; they won BTW 4-1

A picture of our suite

A view from the "Owners" suite. Ryan got to talk again with Jerry Moyes who is the Owner of the Phoenix Coyotes and part-owner of the Arizona Diamondbacks. He also owns Swift trucking company, is from UT and is an active member of the church. One very cool guy. I wanted to get a picture of them together but Ryan wouldn't let me.

My Thesbian Sister

Look at her...she's amazing. Ryan and I went to see "Singing in the Rain" last night at the Draper Historic Theater where my sister Tara played Lina Lamont. The play was wonderful! Great cast, and very entertaining. Good job Tara, we love you!

This week we took a short trip to Tennessee to look at the plane we're buying. The plane was actually in Kentucky, about a two hour drive from Nashville. We were very impressed with the plane, and can't wait to have it to fly. After putting way too much money into Ryan's flight school, we calculated that we'd end up saving about half the money if we bought a plane to train with. Ryan's going into a partnership with a few other guys, so they'll share it. A mechanic is doing a pre-buy inspection on it this week, then hopefully next week Ryan and a buddy will fly down again to fly it back to SLC. We have a hanger at airport 2 in West Jordan. While we were there we saw the Grand Old Opry House in Nashville, went to a movie and played at the arcade. It was a nice trip!

Loathe, Actually

In loue of Valentine's Day, or "single awareness day" as some call it, I ran across this article about the 10 worst romantic movies. Many of us spend the night watching chick flicks, and this author tells us which ones to avoid and why. Leave me a comment and tell me if you agree or disagree or have different ones to add:

1. Pretty Woman
2. The Way We Were
3. Sleepless in Seattle
4. You've Got Mail
5. Ghost
6. Love Story
7. While You Were Sleeping
8. My Big Fat Greek Wedding
9. Four Weddings and a Funeral
10. Dirty Dancing
To see the author's reasonings go here.

Support Henry's Law!

We must be the voice for our innocent animals in Utah. Lawmakers heard us the first time, and they'll keep hearing us until this bill gets passed. The Governor has put it on the agenda for the Special Session and has said, "Thanks to you it became an issue that carried a high profile and a lot of calls were made....that's how our system works." We need to make our voices heard! Spread this to your friends and make calls to the lawmakers. Some people think there is nothing wrong with a dog stabbed in the face because the neighbor claimed he barked too loud. CLICK HERE or that another was found shot to death in the back yard. A new discovery!

Does anyone else have problems with their eye makeup globbing up and creasing? Well, I came across a product that solves it all. It's by Loreal and it's called De-Crease Eye Shadow Base. It's fabulous. It looks like concealer and you just spread it over your eyelid and voila! Your makeup goes on smoother and doesn't crease! It's also supposed to make the color last for 8 hours. I'm a huge fan! It's a great discovery!

Pigeon Island

We hiked to the top of Pigeon Island. Here's the view!

Saint Lucia

We're back...! Our trip was so nice. We relaxed, hiked, swam, and slept in.
We are both really sunburned and freezing back in Salt Lake.
It's good to be home, but we miss the beautiful weather!
